Besides being an NFL champion for the first time, Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley walked away from Super Bowl LIX this week with the single-season record for most rushing yards with the postseason included: 2,504. The effort capped a year that saw him rush for 2,005 yards in the regular season, putting him within 101 yards of that record, which he might have achieved had the Eagles not chosen to rest key starters in the final week of the regular season.

Earlier, the 28-year-old rusher broke the Eagles' franchise record for regular season rushing yards. Barkley also became only the ninth player to ever rush for 2,000 yards or more in NFL history in the regular season, solidifying just how special his first year in Philadelphia has been.

Barkley's addition to the Eagles helped propel the franchise back into the Super Bowl, where they avenged their loss two years earlier to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Big Game. The Eagles are already the early favorites to repeat next season, and Barkley will once again be a cornerstone of Philly's high-powered offense while leading the NFL's most potent rushing attack.
