Autographed Kobe Bryant Card Leads CSG-graded Cards Sold Through PWCC in October

Posted on 02/11/2022

Over 2,500 cards certified by CSG are available right now through online auction site PWCC.

A Kobe Bryant autographed card, which was authenticated and graded by Certified Sports Guaranty® (CSG®), was a slam dunk in the PWCC Marketplace in the past month. PWCC Marketplace has sold many CSG-certified cards as part of a new program offering a quick, simple and stress-free path to grading and selling raw cards.

The month’s highest price for a CSG-certified card was a 2001-02 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection BuyBack Autographs #44 Kobe Bryant ’98-99 SP Authentic graded CSG 7.5 that realized $2,880 on October 2, 2022. The card also received a grade of CSG 10 for the autograph. A buyback card is one that a card company buys in the marketplace and reissues as part of a new set.

At age 17, Kobe Bryant was selected 13th overall in the 1996 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets and traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. He kicked off his career by winning the 1997 Slam Dunk Contest. By his second season, the “high-flyer” was named an All-Star. Bryant would go on to earn 17 more All-Star honors through 2016. Over the course of his career, Bryant was part of five NBA championship teams, was named the 2008 NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) and was a two-time NBA Finals MVP. He is the all-time leading scorer in Lakers history, and in 2020, he was posthumously inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Sell your CSG cards on PWCC Marketplace!

PWCC Marketplace and CSG achieved a streamlined pathway to grading and selling through an operational partnership between the two companies. The new grading and selling program is accessed via an online submission process on the PWCC website, and everything is managed through the PWCC Vault.

Cards sent to CSG receive priority grading and encapsulation through its third-party grading service for sports cards. Graded cards are returned to PWCC and immediately added to PWCC’s Auction Builder Curation Algorithm process, which optimizes cards for sale in upcoming PWCC Weekly Sunday Auctions.
